It's Friday but Sunday's coming!

When I was in high school at a youth conference, Tony Campolo was one of the speakers. This quote and sermon I will never forget. Here is a short part (3 1/2 minutes- I encourage you to watch it) of what he talked about. As followers of Jesus Christ, we need to look forward and celebrate Sunday, but also not forget that Friday was a part of the story as well.

During Semana Santa (Holy Week) there are many celebrations. Some of which include processions that walk throughout town over alfombras (carpets) that people create. Here are some photos of the alfombras in our town. This week we cancelled the after-school program and spent the week mainly at home due to road closures and traffic!

We finished up with our first trimester of the after-school program last week. Check out the slideshow of photos and video from the entire trimester by clicking the link below.

Here are some photos of Dia Especial along with other fun photos!

There have been a few of the kids as we have spent some time reading Bible stories and devotionals, remember verses that they had memorized last year. As we began reading those verses, they were able to finish quoting them. It's so encouraging to hear them recite scripture from months ago as they continue to hide God's word in their heart.

We said goodbye to Nathan and Alex who helped us out every day they were able while they were here learning Spanish.

We are looking forward to having two interns through Push The Rock this summer, Shea and Adynn. You can be praying for us as we prepare and the two of them as they raise support and for their time here in June and July.

We appreciate the prayers for our house search and we are so relieved to say we have found a place to live!!! In our current place our contract ended in the beginning of April, and our landlord said he didn't want to renew, but he would allow us to stay a month or two longer. So we knew we had to most likely be out by May or the latest June. So over the past two months, we looked at 7 different places. We found one place that would be perfect, but it still under construction and the owner doesn't know how long it will take to finish (somewhere between 2-6 months depending on when workers show up), but he said he would let us know when it is available. In the meantime we had to find a 'transition' place until, Lord willing, we can move into this other place. So after looking at the 7 options, we narrowed it down and decided that two would be decent options (decent meaning that they have what we are looking for, but there were some positives and negatives about both). After talking with the owner of one of the places and thinking that we were moving forward with it, they had some issues and problems come up (after 3 different times of talking with them) with the house that ruled that one out. So we will be, Lord willing, moving the first week of May. It's such a relief to not stress out over this any more. However, we ask that you continue to pray for this other place under construction, that if God wants us to move there when it is finished, He will just make it clear and obvious. We will have some photos for you once we move in!
