Community

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another.

On Saturday June 2nd we had our family pool day which included all the kids (amazingly they all were able to attend) in the after-school program along with their immediate families. The day was perfect! There were 82 people there; every single one of the kids in the program were able to make it and they all brought at least one other family member. We were able to meet and get to know some older and younger siblings along with some of their parents. The weather was amazing, there was great fellowship, soccer, snacks, and of course swimming and having fun in the pools. The location that we hosted the event at had a smaller kiddie pool which was very helpful for the kids that couldn’t swim or didn’t feel comfortable in the bigger and deeper pool. Thanks for your prayers. It was an awesome time to bring the families of the community together.

We had some maternity pics taken a couple of weeks ago and we are expecting the arrival of our little guy any day now!

We are so thankful for all the gifts we have received for our new baby. The amount of generosity and community surrounding us is such a blessing.

Shauna was surprised this past Saturday with a baby shower here in our town. Eight of the kids’ mom’s in our after-school program along with some of the girls planned and hosted it. We were so blessed by their willingness to honor us in that way. Some of the ladies also shared how they are so thankful for us and the program we have for their kids. One of the ladies said, (not quoted perfectly and translated) We are so thankful for your program and know our kids are in a safe place at 2:00 every afternoon when they attend. You are such a huge part of our community and such have a positive impact. To us those words meant so much and show that what we are doing with the kids here is improving the community and helping families in amazing ways. The encouragement and blessing from those ladies was also a way we felt encouragement from our Heavenly Father.

We spent some in prayer recently during the after-school program for the people and communities affected by the volcano eruption. The cleanup is mostly finished around our town, however, there are still backhoe's cleaning up some of the ash on the streets. The pictures below show some of the ash covering our grass and patio area. Continue to be in prayer for those are still in shelters and have lost everything.

Our next update, Lord willing, will be about our new baby :)

If you are interested in praying for some more specific requests we have we would love to share those with you. Send us an e-mail or message and we will communicate those with you.

This community of people supporting us in prayer and financially is incredible and we wouldn't be able to be here without you. Thank you so much.
